One of my good friend Mr. Koushik Rudra had rightly compiled the achievements of Jyotibabu.
Here it is:

Jyoti Basu’s Achievements
1. Yeh azadi jhoota hai - thats why didnt hoist tiranga till 80s. Later he said it was a historical blunder.
2. Jyotibabu and communists said that Ravindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda were burgeos
3. They halted computers in Bengal
4. After a lady state government official was gangraped in broad day light by CPM cadre/goons, media asked "dont you think the law and order scenario in Bengal has broken down", Jyoti Babu's comment was, "Erom to koto hoyei thake" means - its a common incident that does not imply thats law and order in Bengal has broken down.
5. Abolished English from primary schools thus jeopardizing a few generations of Bengalis in their pan India competitive strength.
6. Politicised the entire administrative machinery of Bengal, starting from civil servants, police, college professors, school teachers, etc etc - it was a grand party cadreraj - for breathing also you have to take endorsement from party.
7. Jyotibabu was the father of militant trade unionism, which drove away industries and businesses from Bengal
8. He was also the father of the bandh and strike in India
9. Jyoti Babu and his commie clan covertly supported the chinese during the Indo-China war.
10. West Bengal plunged into acute power problem. The moment power used to go ladies used to say. "Jyoti Babu Gone"
11. Corruption and nepotism got a new meaning and definition under his reign of him - see wealth of Chandan Basu, his son.
